Dark Match
Rey Del Sol First Round
Zealot: Considering how massive and formidable his opponent was, Masa was dominating him with strikes and bouncing back from any of the golem's strikes and slams that went his way. The match turned unexpectedly however when Earth barely kicked out of Masa's knee and eventually dumped him outside.
Knowing the ref Wesley, he does not tolerate a lot of brawling so his count was very fast and Earth managed to sneak back in at the last minute.
Now I know it's been a while since Earth had a victory, but this just feels incredibly cheap for a giant to do this. We'll have to see how Masa reacts to this, but Earth moves on I guess.
EDITOR'S NOTE: Stream audio was accidentally left muted for this match. Apologies.

Zealot: Well, this is surprising. I quite fondly remember Galvan winning this tournament in 2012 to become SNGW Universal Champion. Now, he loses to the third incarnation of this silly gimmick that has barely scratched the surface of competition.
And that was all after a bevy of powerbombs. One from the top rope even. This training regimen for the Space Tigers is quite intense. The kitty lives for another day and knocks out a big problem.

BESERK vs. Mothership Express
Zealot: The Mothership Express are still trying for their first win as a team here in SUPER NOVA and they gave a pretty good effort against these barbarians.
With Inoue's headbutts and Jethro hitting a big powerbomb, they were on the right track until they got disorganized after a top rope big boot by Holmstein (yikes!) and some sleeper spinning by Throst.
Ultimately, a strong Uranage slam far enough away from Jethro got the win for BESERK as they continue to make their mark on the tag team scene.

Zealot: I must have made a mistake when I booked Rousseau in this tournament. Was there really no one better to enter?
Well anyway, what can you say about Justin Starr that hasn't already been said? He just wins. The purest quality of all ZIP Japan combatants.
Doubtful this is devastating for Rousseau. I don't even think he knows what that word means.

Zealot: It looks like the Terror of the Deep has finally arrived to high quality status in SUPER NOVA as he and Nobu put on a fitting show for the main event.
Sporting a unique islander style along with some strong strikes, he kept up pretty good with ol' Nobu and had his chances to win. Ultimately, after a Twilight Bomber and TWO Moonlight Serenades, Nobu eventually made the sea creature tap to the Crescent Lock.
He moves on, but I bet he'll be wary of RYOMA if he advances to face him in the quarterfinal.
